Moving back to my home town
I'm am originally from Chicago area. I'm thinking about moving back within this year.
I know I wouldn't move to this place because it's not the area I want to live in, but I was always curious about how much a condo in Marina City would go for. I looked online. It did have its own website but it's not there any more.
I will most likely move to Wrigleyville, Rogers Park or maybe Lincoln Park. I grew up in Hoffman Estates. I don't think I want to live in that area or in the suburbs.
It's all still up in the air, of course.

This weekends potluck dinner and movie!
Well, (as I reference the going link/poll again, here it is for those who missed it!)http://www.livejournal.com/poll/?id=34915
So, the current going plan is, that we'd likely start the fooding around 5:30-6PM, sort of like last time..
And likely start showing the movies around 8PM, sort of like last time. :)
This is the part where I ask, "Hey, what you people bringing? ;)"
I know that jasper17
is bringing fresh curry she'll be making..
And I know I'll likely be making some kind of complex dish, as I tend to make (Any suggestions? I'm open to them!)
So, you other folks of the world, who are bringing something, Whatcha bringing?
Others of you who don't know what to bring? or want to aid the cause by bringing something? If you're in the mood to bring
things, let us know! we can make suggestions!
Also, whomever may need directions or rides or such, let me know here as well, so we can make it all happen!
The movie(s) we'll be watching have not yet been defined, however they'll become more firm as we get closer..
So, please comment, what you're bringing, etc! woo!

Movie night (as soon in my own Journal)
Well! It is coming time for a Movie Evening! This Saturday! Movie Night!
Saturday the 18th of May!
Come one come all! to Moooovie Night!
I'm going to try to kick it a German Theme, if I can, but if we get over-ridden, it happens.
In the effort of that German Theme, well, it'd be more like a Franka Potente theme!
Run Lola Run
The Princess and the Warrior
So, if you're going to be here, or going to be coming or want to come, let me know ;)
And I'll be sure there is a place for you!
As always, I try to aim for the 8PM or so, that gives most people a chance to make it here :)
Any questions, concerns, and/or if you're coming, comment, and let me know! :)

Hey everyone. Just bored at home, so I thought I'd check out some communities. Figure I might as well tell you a little bit about me so I'm not a total stranger. My name is Colleen, I live in Illinois Holy Land... a.k.a. Wheaton. (If you've never heard of it, be grateful) I go to school downtown Chicago though. So yeah, hello and nice meeting you all. I've lived here all my life, but our weather hasn't done crap like this in quite a long time, somewhere along the lines of NEVER. These kind of weather patterns are just WHACKED!

Death Star Officer: "what is it Luftenant Sebastian?"
Lt. Sebastian: "its the rebel's sir...they're here..."
DSO:"MY GOD MAN!! ...do they want tea?"
LS:"I think they're up to more than that, sir...I dont know what it is...but they brought a flag!"
since I shall be referring to the L as "the Pee" from unto this point....I say that "the Pee" should be listed as an interest. along with "da bears", "chicago-style pizza", "vienna beef", "the ferrara pan factory", and "rusty tattoo parlors on belmont" ahhhhhhhh....sweet Chicago. so many points of interest in my area!
don't forget to add "the land of walgreens, jewel osco, shitty suburbs full of old ladies and joggers with sticks up their asses, and the fur protesters out on Michigan avenue. oh, and don't forget the silver alien man too."
there's plenty to not forget about this city. *smile*
*grabs chrissie's ass*
thanks for the new home! Current Mood: amused
If im gonna live there, might aswell join the community ;) Here is a post i made today in my own LJ. I need people to support and join in!
Chicago, Illinois. They have an "elevated" train system, nicknamed The El. The area it travels round is called the Loop. When i go over there to visit, i have a mission :) And where better to sow the seeds than here on LJ hehe.
My plan... is to petitioni to rename the El to the Pee :D Why? Coz P is a much better letter than L hehe. My name satrts with P, and the comedy value is much better than L ;) I could just march right in to the first government building i come across and demand to talk to city planners, but i have a much better plan :D
I will start work here on LJ, converting people to start calling it the Pee in there day to day activities. Then once i get there, i will work on the ticket officers :D Once they join my cause, they can start correcting customers buying tickets. "2 for the El please" "im sorry sir, it's been renamed, it's the Pee now. Named after a great visitor we had here not so long back. A visionary of a man who corrected our ways!" :D So then the Public will gradually start calling it the Pee. I will go into map stores, and whilst someone distracts the people behind the counter, i shall sneak around with my pencil and rename relevant things on all their maps :D
Michelle tells me drunks often get rushed to hospital for urinating on the third rail, which carries electrical currents. "Don't Pee on the Pee" signs could be put up around the town :)
"How do i get to O'Hare airport?" "you gotta take the Pee".
Its a MUCH better name!! And how do i know people will follow my lead and support the campaign? Coz i will be "that weird kid from england"! At the very least i will have all the female population of Chicago on my side, coz american lasses love an english accent ;) haha. sneaky tactics :D
I'm gonna make a little banner i reckon, so you can all post it on your LJ hehe. Show your support for The Pee!!
-BounSes off to make banners- Current Mood: crazy
Gooooooood morning Chicago!!! woooooooo!!!!!1
